Personal Chef / Household Meal Prep Chef

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and health-conscious Personal Chef to support meal preparation for two adults in their 70s in a private home setting. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about preparing nourishing, high-quality food and who takes pride in creating a seamless, supportive kitchen experience.
The chef will be responsible for planning and preparing meals, grocery shopping, kitchen clean-up, food packaging and storage, and making future meals and leftovers easy to serve and enjoy. Some meals may be plated and served fresh during visits, while others should be prepped, packaged, and clearly labeled for easy reheating when the chef is not onsite.
The ideal candidate is professional, organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook healthy, flavorful meals for two adults on a 2–3 day per week schedule
- Create a mix of:
- freshly prepared and plated meals for the day of service
- packaged meals and meal components for easy reheating or assembly on non-service days
- Handle grocery shopping and ingredient sourcing, with a strong preference for:
- whole, nutrient-dense foods
- high-quality proteins, including grass-fed meats and wild-caught seafood
- fresh vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and other minimally processed ingredients
- Design menus centered on brain-healthy, whole-food eating
- Avoid ultra-processed foods and prioritize clean, simple ingredients
- Prepare meals with an emphasis on:
- plenty of vegetables
- balanced nutrition
- freshness and quality
- Package, label, and store prepared foods in a way that makes meals easy to access, reheat, and enjoy
- Plate current meals attractively and appropriately when serving during scheduled visits
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
- Clean all dishes, cookware, surfaces, and kitchen areas used during meal preparation
- Monitor pantry and refrigerator basics and restock as needed
- Communicate clearly about menus, ingredients, grocery needs, and scheduling
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Previous experience as a personal chef, private chef, household cook, or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of whole-food, health-focused cooking
- Familiarity or willingness to learn with preparing food that supports healthy aging and brain health
- Experience sourcing and preparing high-quality ingredients, including grass-fed meats and wild-caught seafood
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, and professionally in a private home
- Strong food safety and kitchen sanitation practices
- Kind, respectful, and service-oriented demeanor
- Dependable, punctual, and consistent
Transportation & Reliability Requirements
- Must have reliable personal transportation
- Must be comfortable commuting to a rural home location
- Professionalism and consistency are essential, as this role requires dependable in-home support on a regular weekly schedule
Scheduling
- 2–3 days per week
- Flexible scheduling may be available for the right candidate, but reliability is very important
Compensation
- Competitive pay, based on experience, qualifications, and scope of services provided
Pay: $60.00 - $100.00 per hour
