Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law cases such as divorce, child custody, visitation, and support disputes with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools like Westlaw to build strong case strategies
- Draft clear, persuasive legal documents including pleadings, motions, agreements, and court filings
- Negotiate settlements effectively to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining positive client relationships
- Manage all aspects of case preparation, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing clients for court proceedings
Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience practicing family law with a strong track record of successful client advocacy
- Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw to support case development
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce precise legal drafting and comprehensive reports
- Strong negotiation skills combined with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and confidently
- Prior experience working in a busy law office environment with solid legal administrative skills
