- Own, reconcile, and direct a tight GL month-end close process, focusing on key accounts such as revenue, deferred revenue, commissions, and stock options.
- Prepare the month-end reporting package with a detailed analysis of any variances.
- Review and establish/improve formal written processes and policies for all accounting-impacted processes.
- Coordinate with the CFO and accounting team to enhance and maintain all accounting IT systems, including mid-market solutions for ERP, billing, and expenses.
- Lead the annual external audit and prepare the required reporting.
- Manage external contractors on compliance for various taxes, including Federal, State, Corporate, Sales, and Use.
- Manage private equity and bank compliance reporting.
- Coordinate with the CFO on FP&A in developing KPIs, forecasting, and insights.
- Report and communicate operational metrics and budget/forecast information across the organization Own the AR process, credit & collections, AP approval, and incentive payouts.
- Conduct accounting research, staying fluent in US GAAP/IFRS, to plan and implement new accounting initiatives (e.g., ASC 606 on Revenue Recognition).
Requirements:
- 2 to 3 years working in finance for a SaaS/software company would be preferable.
- 3 years plus working in regional or national audit firm; exposure to SaaS/Software companies is a plus.
- Familiarity with Carta or a similar product for Cap Table reporting is a plus.
- CPA license with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Hands-on, self-starter, and hard worker with a proactive attitude.
- Enjoys managing change-management projects that enhance organization scale.
- Detail-oriented leader capable of working in a fast-paced environment with large amounts of data.
- Consistent track record of delivering ahead of deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external partners.
- Ability to review and understand commercial and vendor contracts.
- Continuous learner with a "grit" mindset and openness to constructive feedback.
- Personal strength in Microsoft Excel and Word (PowerPoint a plus).
- Flexible, collaborative, and interested in new technology.
**Compensation:**
- Base Salary $125k -$140K
