American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring 2 years of experience and telemetry/IV start skills.

Acute care hospital setting on the Stepdown Cardiac unit

Patient ratio of 1:5

Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a

Rotating weekends required

Holiday coverage required as needed

No on-call requirements

May be required to float between Downtown and Northeast campuses based on census and staffing needs, adjusting to the ratio of the floated unit

Uses Epic EMR

Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs

Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted

AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Telemetry and IV start skills required
-
Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
-
Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
-
Experience starting and maintaining IVs
-
Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Provide direct patient care in a cardiac stepdown/PCU/IMC setting including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
-
First-time travelers will be considered but candidates with previous travel experience are preferred

Royal blue scrub color required

Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be prioritized; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis

Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

During hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), all staff including travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams

Parking available near facility; downtown lots require a free parking pass distributed at badge pickup
