Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks, excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, backhoes, water trucks, and other construction machinery to move materials and perform site preparation.
- Transport construction materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, and equipment to designated locations on-site or between sites.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with excavation, grading, utility locating, horizontal drilling, paving, and other construction utility work as needed.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe work environment.
- Support site operations by performing light maintenance or troubleshooting mechanical issues on heavy machinery.
- Collaborate with team members to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and project specifications.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving and heavy equipment operation within a construction setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Skilled in operating loaders (including front-end loaders), excavators (such as Caterpillar models), graders, dozers, backhoes, water trucks, tankers, and paving machinery.
- Familiarity with construction utility work including utility locating and horizontal drilling techniques.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and comprehensive understanding of equipment safety procedures.
- Ability to perform construction grading accurately and support excavation projects effectively.
- Excellent understanding of construction site operations with a focus on safety compliance and efficient workflow management.
