Technical Solutions Architect with deep expertise in the BlackLine platform to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the technical authority on BlackLine’s suite of financial close and automation modules, bridging the gap between finance stakeholders, IT, and implementation partners.
You will bring deep expertise in Controllership Processes (Month End Close, Journals, Reconciliations) and Intercompany processes to design future state process and lead complex deployments, integrations, and optimizations across the BlackLine ecosystem to drive efficiency in financial operations.
The role will service as the functional and technical expert, ensuring that BlackLine capabilities align with the future state design, business requirements and transformation objectives.
Skillset required:
Previous experience managing technology/system implementation projects as he/she will lead technical workstreams for new implementations, system upgrades, and BlackLine module expansions
Proven experience with implementing Core Record to Report BlackLine modules (e.g. Journals, Reconciliations, Transaction Matching and Task Management) and the BlackLine Intercompany Hub Modules.
5+ years in finance technology or transformation roles with a good understanding of controllership processes including intercompany processes.
Experience in creating a Health Check framework leveraging automation and visual analytics to identify process risks and provide clear ROI metrics for solution adoption
Roles and Responsibilities:
Solution Design and Process Optimization:
Partner with finance transformation teams to standardize controllership processes across entities which are underpinned by BlackLine capabilities.
Identify automation opportunities and leverage BlackLine capabilities to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Lead the process design and architecture of BlackLine solutions for Core Financial Controllership processes and Intercompany processes, which includes the create, balance and resolve, and net and settle. Act as both a project manager and solution architect/technical lead, who can oversee all project activities and deliverables.
Develop end-to-end solution blueprints that align BlackLine capabilities with business requirements, ERP systems, and broader financial close processes
Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Internal Audit teams to translate business requirements into technical design specifications
Lead discovery workshops, solution demos, and proof-of-concept exercises for new module adopting’s or feature rollouts
Serve as an escalation point for complex functional and technical issues raised by end users or project teams
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to expand BlackLine adoption across the organization and build business cases for new module implementations
Monitor BlackLine release notes and roadmap updates; assess impact and communicate changes to stakeholders
Mentor junior analysts and administrators on platform best practices
Technical Platform Architecture & Implementation:
Design, configure, and deploy BlackLine modules including Account Reconciliations, Journal Entry, Task Management, Transaction Matching, Intercompany Hub, and Variance Analysis
Lead technical workstreams for new implementations, system upgrades, and module expansions
Define data architecture, integration patterns, and reconciliation frameworks within the platform
Integration and System Design:
Architect and manage integrations between BlackLine and ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite) using BlackLine’s standard connectors, APIs, and flat-file methods
Collaborate with IT teams to design secure, scalable data pipelines for GL data, subledger feeds, and supporting documentation
Evaluate and implement third-party connectors and middleware solutions as needed
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering and collaborate with IT and finance teams to integrate BlackLine with ERPs systems
Develop and maintain solution documentation and configuration guides
Ability to execute multiple UAT cycles and go lives across all the modules.
Governance, Security and Compliance:
Support audit and compliance activities related to controllership transactions.
Design and maintain BlackLine user access models, role hierarchies, and segregation of duties (SoD) frameworks
Ensure platform configurations meet audit, SOX, and internal controls requirements
Maintain technical documentation including solution design documents, data flow diagrams, and runbooks
Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as the subject matter expert for BlackLine RTR Core modules and Intercompany Hub & the three Intercompany modules during workshops, process design and technical design sessions.
Provide training and knowledge transfer to finance and technical teams.
Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Internal Audit teams to translate business requirements into technical design specifications
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $90.15/hour - $140.86/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
