Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process
- Schedule appointments accurately using veterinary management software, accommodating urgent cases when necessary
- Collect and process payments for services rendered, including medical collections and retail sales
- Maintain detailed and organized patient records, including vaccination history, medical notes, and treatment plans
- Answer phone calls promptly, providing information about services, appointments, and pet care advice
- Assist with kennel duties such as animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning, and monitoring pets’ comfort during their stay
- Support veterinary staff by handling administrative tasks like filing, faxing lab results, and managing inventory of pet supplies
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques when handling animals or assisting with procedures such as animal catheterization or restraint
Requirements
- Prior experience in a veterinary office or animal-related environment is preferred; experience with veterinary critical care or laboratory procedures is a plus
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques for dogs and other small animals
- Ability to handle animals confidently using proper restraint methods; experience with dog handling is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to clients
- Basic computer skills; experience with veterinary management software is advantageous
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
