Job Summary:
Assistant Bakery Managers are responsible for performing all the duties and job functions of an experienced Baker and Bakery Clerk. In this position, you will assist the Bakery Manager with providing outstanding customer service, oversee daily production and follow all inventory control procedures to maximize product freshness, quality, and availability for maximum sales.
Hours: Early mornings and midday shifts with occasional nights; weekends are required
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assistant Bakery Managers will assume the responsibility of Bakery Manager in his/her absence
· Provide outstanding customer service to each and every guest
· Assist in gracefully managing all areas of the Bakery by consistently leading by example
· Oversee weekly production scheduled for the department set by the Bakery Manager
· Maintain a full and fresh department that is clean and neat by developing daily production lists to establish department priorities
· Assist in order writing, inventory reports, cake decorating, baking and donut frying, bakery production and counter duties as needed.
· Participate in the training of associates
· Operate and maintain baking equipment including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, ovens, proofers, bread slicer, glazer, scales, knives, labeler, fryer, and mixers
· Package, price and stock various bakery items
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety/sanitation regulations
· Physical demands include, but not limited to, frequent stooping/bending, walking on uneven ground, turning, standing, reaching, kneeling, climbing ladders, lifting/carrying objects 5 lbs to 50 lbs, working in a hot environment and close to heated surfaces
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Prior bakery experience preferred but will train
· Ability to work at a fast paced and efficient manner to meet deadlines
· Ability to successfully assist in leading, coaching, training and motivating our team
Ability to make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities, under limited supervision
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
