Summary:
The Child Passenger Safety Coordinator is directly responsible for ensuring compliance with safety laws and recommendations for children upon discharge from the Children’s Hospital and by appointment and educating caregivers. The Coordinator will provide periodic updates of child safety seat check data. The Coordinator is directly responsible for the review of quality control, patient privacy compliance, supply maintenance as needed, and child passenger safety activities on site at Niswonger Children’s Hospital. The Coordinator will work closely with Children’s Resource Center staff and leadership as well as hospital staff and leadership. The Coordinator is responsible for keeping abreast of changing child passenger safety requirements, guidelines, and updates and knowledge of current child passenger safety products and concerns. The Coordinator is responsible for gathering the appropriate documentation and entering it into digital databases for tracking, as well as ensuring completion of all liability releases. Coordinator must be able to communicate effectively with patients, staff, visitors, and others while maintaining a positive attitude.
This position is grant funded by the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification (or willing to obtain)
