We are a growing children’s clothing brand looking for a highly detail-oriented and experienced CAD & Tech Pack Designer to join our team.
Our design team will provide the designs, sketches, references, and creative direction. Your role will be to take those designs and accurately translate them into professional CADs and detailed, production-ready tech packs for our factories.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate CAD/technical flats based on existing designs provided by our design team
- Translate design concepts, sketches, and references into clean, professional technical drawings
- Create detailed, factory-ready tech packs for children’s apparel
- Include accurate measurements, specifications, construction details, and callouts
- Clearly communicate fabrics, trims, buttons, snaps, zippers, labels, embroidery, prints, and other garment details
- Document sewing and construction details for the factory
- Make revisions based on feedback from the design team and factories
- Update tech packs throughout the development and sampling process
- Maintain organized product files and ensure all tech packs are accurate and up to date
- Manage multiple styles and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in CAD and apparel tech pack creation
- Strong experience with children’s apparel and/or baby apparel
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
- Strong understanding of garment construction and manufacturing
- Excellent knowledge of apparel measurements, specifications, and grading
- Experience creating technical flats/CADs from existing designs
- Experience working with overseas factories is a plus
- Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
- Able to follow design direction and accurately execute someone else’s vision
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple styles and meet deadlines
The Ideal Candidate
You have a strong eye for detail and understand how a garment needs to be communicated to a factory. You can take a designer’s vision and turn it into a clear, accurate CAD and tech pack that leaves little room for interpretation.
Experience with baby layette, girls’ apparel, boys’ apparel, and children’s clothing is highly preferred.
