Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our night shift team from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care within long-term and acute care settings, demonstrating expertise in managing complex health needs and providing compassionate support to our residents. This role offers an excellent opportunity for motivated nurses to contribute significantly to resident well-being in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Duties
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to residents during overnight hours, including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient assessments.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring residents' comfort and safety through proper hygiene, mobility support, and nutrition management.
- Monitor residents for signs of acute or chronic health issues, promptly reporting changes to the healthcare team for appropriate intervention.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA and long-term care regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, and social workers—to coordinate personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Implement infection control protocols diligently to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the facility.
- Provide emotional support and effective communication to residents and their families, fostering a respectful and caring environment.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of practice.
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, or assisted living environments preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration, IV infusion techniques, and basic life support (BLS).
- Experience working with geriatric populations, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care; familiarity with memory care strategies is desirable.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, vital sign assessments, and catheter care accurately.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
We offer an attendance bonus up to additional $3.00/hour
