The Yahoo Fantasy Sports Product team oversees all games for Yahoo Sports, driven by the goal of growing user engagement and usage across our platform. Yahoo Sports is seeking a detail-oriented operator to join the team and assist in administering daily fantasy games—specifically driving operations for Daily Draw . This team member will be responsible for creating contest parameters and question sets, as well as monitoring and scoring contests in real time. If you have broad-based sports knowledge, a passion for gaming, and a track record of operational accuracy, this role offers an exciting opportunity to help deliver seamless daily experiences to millions of sports fans.
- Contest Administration & Scoring: Program questions and set parameters for upcoming Daily Draw contests 3 to 5 shifts per week, monitoring events during the live window to ensure accurate, error-free scoring.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure Daily Draw continues to operate seamlessly every day while operating independently with a high attention to detail.
- Content Ideation & Research: Proactively monitor live games, transactions, and social media to flag newsworthy stories and inform upcoming contest schedules; collaborate with the product team on contest ideation.
- Community Engagement: Interact with fans and users via on-platform discussions during live windows to maintain high audience engagement.
- Data Management: Utilize Google Sheets and data sets daily to manage contest logistics, parameters, and reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the broader fantasy product team to support overarching game growth, user experience, and engagement goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2+ years in a comparable operational or contest administration role; experience in sports, sports gaming, or sports betting (e.g., DraftKings, FanDuel, Underdog, PrizePicks) is strongly preferred.
- Broad-based sports knowledge and passion across major leagues, with a strong focus on football (NFL/College), basketball (NBA/College Men’s & Women’s), and baseball (MLB).
- Proven proficiency working with data and fluency in Google Sheets.
- Experience working in sports or sports-adjacent businesses during off-peak hours (nights and weekends) around live sporting events.
- Preferred: Knowledge of key sports betting concepts, sportsbook offerings, and oddsmaking principles.
- Work Location & Schedule: Fully remote position (open to any time zone within the continental US); requires willingness to work nights and weekends aligned with live sporting event windows (no travel required).
