Location: Lake County and Northwest Indiana
Pay: $17 per hour
Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time and PRN/As Needed
Position Summary
AideCare Home Support Agency is seeking caring, dependable and personable Companion Care Staff to provide nonmedical companionship and social support to seniors and adults in their homes.
The ideal candidate is patient, engaging and committed to helping clients feel connected, respected and safe while maintaining their independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and meaningful conversation
- Encourage social interaction and appropriate recreational activities
- Provide supervision and general safety monitoring
- Accompany clients on approved errands or appointments
- Assist with planning daily routines and activities
- Provide reminders for meals, appointments and daily tasks
- Offer emotional support and a friendly presence
- Follow the client’s individualized service plan
- Document services accurately and on time
- Report concerns or changes in the client’s condition
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be compassionate, patient and dependable
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work independently in clients’ homes
- Must successfully complete required background and registry checks
- Reliable transportation is strongly preferred
- Previous companion-care, caregiving or customer-service experience is preferred

Independent Contractor Notice
This is a 1099 independent-contractor opportunity. Employer-sponsored health insurance and traditional employee benefits are not currently offered. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, transportation and related expenses.
