SSU is currently recruiting for a Junior-Level Proposal Manager to join our team and work in our corporate office in Fayetteville, N.C. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and former military intelligence personnel, Intelligence Community professionals, or analysts with experience conducting research, technical writing, critical analysis, and developing well-organized written products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Junior-Level Proposal Manager is a specialized profession that combines project management, compliance, technical writing, and business development. Supported with a structured on-the-job training program, the successful candidate will progressively assume responsibility for:
Proposal Management:
- Supporting and eventually managing Shipley-based proposal development efforts from kickoff through submission.
- Developing proposal schedules, compliance matrices, annotated outlines, and action item trackers.
- Coordinating inputs from subject matter experts, subcontractors, and teaming partners.
- Supporting Pink, Red, and Gold Team reviews while maintaining proposal version control.
- Ensuring proposals are compliant, compelling, and delivered on schedule.
Capture Support:
- Assisting with opportunity research using SAM.gov and other government procurement resources.
- Supporting competitive assessments, opportunity tracking, and capture planning.
- Assisting with teaming agreements, NDAs, and subcontractor coordination.
- Maintaining opportunity databases and supporting business development activities.
Proposal Writing:
- Researching, writing, editing, and formatting technical and management proposal content.
- Translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise language.
- Supporting development of resumes, graphics, compliance matrices, and supporting documentation.
- Editing proposal sections for consistency, grammar, style, and compliance with solicitation requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience.
- Intelligence analysis, military staff, research analyst, technical writer, or comparable analytical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and produce well-structured written products.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Willingness to learn proposal management through SSU’s structured training and mentoring program.
