Overview
Greystone Management Group is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Service Technician II to support the maintenance and upkeep of our apartment communities. This role helps complete service requests, prepare apartment homes for new residents, maintain community grounds and common areas, and support a safe, comfortable living environment for residents.
We are seeking a Service Technician II to support apartment community maintenance and provide excellent service to residents. This role is responsible for completing service requests, preparing apartments for move-in, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting repairs, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning property.
The ideal candidate has hands-on apartment maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This position requires a customer-service mindset, reliability, attention to safety, and knowledge of general repair work across plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, flooring, carpentry, appliances, pools and spas, roofing, and life-safety equipment.
Key Responsibilities
· Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
· Prepare apartments for move-in within required make-ready timelines.
· Perform routine maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
· Identify and report unsafe property conditions or liability concerns.
· Follow company safety standards and applicable regulations, including OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, EPA, and hazardous-material handling requirements.
· Maintain tools, equipment, storage areas, and work areas in safe condition.
· Assist with emergency response plans, on-call duties, and occasional grounds or housekeeping work.
· Travel between Greystone properties and pick up parts or supplies as needed.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of three to four years of apartment maintenance experience.
· Maintenance training or related certifications preferred.
· Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
· Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, appliances, flooring, drywall, carpentry, locks, pools and spas, roofing, and life-safety systems.
· Comfortable using a smartphone and technology for work-related tasks.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and property management software; Yardi experience preferred.
· Must provide personal tools.
· Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, auto insurance, and reliable transportation required.
· Availability for full-time work, weekends as needed, rotating on-call shifts, and emergency service calls.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and lifting. Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. regularly, with assistance for heavier items. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
