The Moreland on the Move Community Association (MOMCA), founded in 1962, is seeking dynamic and dedicated volunteers to serve on its Board of Directors.
If you are a Shaker Heights resident (particularly from the Moreland Neighborhood) , have a passion for service and a desire to make a positive difference, you should consider one of these leadership positions:

Board members play a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction and operational excellence of our organization. These leadership positions offer an exciting opportunity to influence impactful initiatives, foster strong governance, and collaborate with a diverse team of senior leaders committed to advancing MOMCA’s mission.
Regardless of position, you will support the Board President in executing organizational goals, overseeing key committees, and ensuring effective management of resources to maximize community impact. Your strategic insight and leadership will help shape the future trajectory of the organization and Neighborhood while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Board President and fellow board members to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
- Lead and support various board committees, ensuring effective governance, project oversight, and goal achievement.
- Assist in overseeing organizational financial management, including budgeting processes, financial planning, and ensuring compliance with fiscal policies.
- Foster strong relationships with executive leadership, staff, stakeholders, and community partners to promote organizational growth and sustainability.
- Participate actively in fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and business development initiatives to expand organizational reach.
- Promote operational excellence by supporting process improvements, program development, and strategic initiatives that enhance service delivery.
- Ensure adherence to legal standards and ethical practices within governance responsibilities while maintaining transparency with all stakeholders.
Skills
- Proven management experience with a strong understanding of organizational operations and strategic planning.
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and departments.
- Demonstrated executive leadership capabilities with experience managing senior teams or boards.
- Strong project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
