We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Supervisor for night shift.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading day-to-day production activities for an assigned team to safely deliver quality products on time. This role executes the daily production plan, monitors performance against key metrics (safety, quality, delivery, productivity), removes barriers to flow, and drives continuous improvement through standard work, problem-solving, and effective communication with employees, peers, and leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Lead daily shift start-up and tier meetings; communicate priorities, staffing, safety topics, and expected output.
- Execute the production plan by coordinating people, materials, and equipment; adjust schedules to respond to downtime, quality issues, and changing demand.
- Monitor and improve performance to targets (safety, quality, delivery, productivity, scrap, OEE); escalate issues and implement corrective actions.
- Apply Lean/TPM practices (5S, standard work, visual management, changeover improvement, autonomous maintenance) to stabilize processes and reduce waste.
- Use data and digital tools (e.g., Excel and plant systems such as Wings/MES/ERP as applicable) to analyze trends, validate capacity, and support decision-making.
- Coach, train, and develop employees; ensure cross-training, skill progression, and strong engagement while maintaining consistent performance expectations.
- Ensure products meet specifications by enforcing quality standards, supporting root-cause analysis, and maintaining documentation/traceability requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing safe work practices, conducting safety observations, and ensuring compliance with EHS policies.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Materials to resolve constraints, prioritize work, and improve equipment/process reliability.
- Maintain accurate shift documentation and reports (production, downtime, labor, scrap) and communicate results and handoffs between shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
Leads and directly supervises approximately 5–30 hourly/non-exempt employees (varies by area/shift). Sets clear expectations, coaches and develops team members, and supports engagement and performance through training, cross-training, and timely feedback. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including planning and assigning work, monitoring performance, recognizing achievements, addressing conduct and attendance concerns, and resolving employee issues.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Typically 3–5 years of related manufacturing/production leadership experience, including leading teams, applying continuous improvement (Lean/TPM), and supporting a safe, quality-focused operation.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
