The Online and Personalized Learning Specialist serves as an instructional mentor and educational systems designer supporting educators online and in-person at the 12th Street campus. The specialist leads the implementation of online and in-person learning experiences that expand access, flexibility, and personalization while maintaining high expectations for rigor, relevance, and student ownership of learning.
In-person, the Specialist supports the implementation of personalized, competency-based, and future-focused learning practices. The Specialist is responsible for building in-person teacher capacity to design and facilitate student-centered, profession-based learning experiences aligned to clearly defined competencies and durable skills. Working under the direction of the INNOVATE principal, the Specialist partners with educators to shift instruction from traditional models to innovative, mastery-based approaches that prioritize student agency, real-world application, and authentic learning.
The Specialist is also responsible for building online teacher capacity to design and facilitate online courses aligned with the Weber Online Course Structure Guide. Working under the direction of the Online principal, the Specialist supports the design, development, and continuous improvement of online courses. This includes supporting educators in creating high-quality online curriculum, building full courses and modules aligned to the course structure guide, and ensuring courses are rigorous, engaging, and accessible for all learners.
In both capacities, the Specialist promotes the effective and responsible use of artificial intelligence in course design and instruction, while guiding the development of AI-aware and AI-resistant learning experiences that emphasize critical thinking, originality, and authentic demonstration of mastery.
