Position: MVP Camp Mentor
Rate of Pay: $15.00-16.00/hour
Program Dates: June 8 – July 2
Approx. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:30am–3:30pm

Position Summary
The MVP Camp Mentor is responsible for leading a group of approximately 15–25 youth, ages 10–14 (grouped by age), through daily sports-based activities and camp experiences. Camp Mentors support the YMCA’s mission by fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive environment while serving as a strong role model who demonstrates the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a group of youth during daily sports activities, games, and camp programming.
- Promote youth development by encouraging teamwork, confidence, effort, and positive behavior.
- Take daily attendance and lunch counts accurately.
- Assist with sport instruction and facilitate age-appropriate skill development.
- Implement daily and weekly lesson plans as provided.
- Set up, maintain, and properly store equipment needed for scheduled activities.
- Assist with morning, lunch, and transition supervision to ensure participant safety at all times.
- Safely transport youth to and from approved field trip locations when required.
- Maintain constant supervision and awareness of campers and surroundings.
- Follow all YMCA policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Serve as a positive role model and uphold professional conduct at all times.

Required Trainings
All required trainings must be completed prior to or during employment:
- Day Camp Supervision (12 minutes)
- Behavior Management at Camp (12 minutes)
- Child Abuse Prevention at Camp (14 minutes)
- Aquatics Safety at the Pool (10 minutes)
- Transportation Safety at Camp (9 minutes)
- Bully Prevention at Camp (10 minutes)
- Field Trips & Off-site Travel Safety (10 minutes)
- Peer-to-Peer Sexual Abuse at Camp (12 minutes)
