Client Overview:
Placers is seeking a Temporary Quality Inspector for our premier client site located in Elkton, Maryland. The ideal candidate will be quality minded, productive and reliable. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to ensure that products and materials meet established standards by performing inspections, measurements, and tests throughout the production process.
Assignment Length: 6-month contract
Pay Rate: $21/hr
Hours:
- 3rd Shift: Sun-Fri 11:00pm-7:30am
Responsibilities:
- Establishing quality standards for products
- Reading specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards
- Recommending any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes
- Inspecting and testing the materials produced
- Using gadgets such as micrometer screw gauges to measure products
- Removing products that doesn’t meet production standards and recommending strategies to improve product quality
- Accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing inspection results with the production team
- Performing inspections at random to assess product quality
Required Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and experience working within a defined Quality System; following written instructions and making good, product-quality decisions
- Ability to make decisions within gray area (demonstrated understanding of personal risk assessment)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Adapt to schedule changes; flexibility to work in alternate areas, or work alternate shifts, or overtime as needed
- Basic math and computer skills with ability to learn more advanced computer applications
- Experience in successfully managing multiple, often conflicting, priorities
- Comfortable working independently as well as in a functional team environment
- Able to lift 35 pounds on a regular basis
