SKE FORENSIC CONSULTANTS specializes in accident reconstruction and provides services to clients in both the legal and insurance industries. We are located in northern New Jersey and we are seeking a part-time Forensic Office Assistant to work directly with our Office Administrator in a small office environment. The ideal candidate will be required to work as part of a team and assist where needed. The candidate will be responsible for office tasks such as maintaining our file systems, file organization and maintenance, scanning files into internal database, and interacting with clients. With experience, this candidate may be required to assist with various ad hoc projects such as proofreading and verifying statistics.
Once trained, this individual will be well organized, self-motivated, and possess excellent follow-up skills. This candidate must be comfortable dealing with attorneys and insurance agents with a high level of integrity. We are seeking a candidate who is self-motivated and able to work independently. This individual must be able to maintain a level of maturity. This candidate will be required to maintain a high level of confidentiality with company records.
The Forensic Office Assistant will be required to work approx. 10-15 hours per week during the school year and 25-30 hours per week during the summer months (with flexibility).
Responsibilities:
Provide support to Office Administrator and Admin Assistants:
- Provide support to the Office Manager and Admin Assistants;
- Maintain filing system which includes file organization and maintenance, close out files, scan files into the internal database, interacting with clients, and contacting clients on the status of files;
- Assist with ongoing projects as they arise - assist with evidence collection, review/proof documents to check for spelling, grammar, and verify data;
- Assist in ongoing filing projects which includes contacting clients, tracking file status, and scanning file material to the internal database;
- Ability to use Outlook email, calendar & task system;
- Ability to assemble new case files, prepare retainer agreements for clients, and maintain file documentation using numerical filing guidelines;
- Assist with ongoing projects as they arise
Requirements:
- This candidate MUST be a high school or college STUDENT; only accepting applications for students;
- Any office experience a plus;
- Preferred candidate will live within 10 miles of office located in Oakland, NJ;
- Candidate must be comfortable dealing with high end clients;
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Candidate will be required to become familiar with Access database;
- Strong organizational skills; ability to work independently;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Eager to accept new opportunities and challenges with high energy and passion;
- Operate office equipment such as copier/scanner, phone systems, and computer for spreadsheets, word processing, database management, and other applications;
Schedule/Benefits:
- Minimum of 10 hours per week during school year; and 25 hours per week during summer months;
- Office hours: Monday thru Friday between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., can work around school schedule;
- A valid driver’s license and must have your own vehicle;
- Hourly pay commensurate with experience
