Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License A Local Container Driver and take charge of delivering and managing containers within our local service area. Responsibilities
*DROP & HOOK* *HOME EVERYDAY* *NO TOUCH FREIGHT*
- Safely operate various commercial trucks such as front loader, rear loader, and roll-off trucks in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws.
- Drive route-specific schedules to deliver and pick up containers efficiently within designated local areas.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards; perform minor mechanical checks and report any issues promptly.
- Adhere to hazardous materials regulations when handling special waste types; ensure proper documentation for all loads.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups, addressing inquiries or concerns courteously.
- Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, delivery records, and vehicle inspections; complete shift reports diligently.
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and outdoor work to prevent injuries; utilize proper techniques when handling bulky or heavy containers.
Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver's License A with necessary endorsements for operating heavy trucks including air brake certification.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with garbage trucks or municipal waste management vehicles.
- Familiarity with front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and related container handling equipment such as front-end loaders.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to commercial driving.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload containers efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
- Experience in route driving within local areas with a focus on solid waste management or municipal services preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting; outdoor work experience is highly valued.
