Position Summary
The Speech & Language Pathologist screens for speech therapy/needs and provides evaluations and consultations to meet student’s educational needs and according to the individual IEP/IFSP. The therapist is expected to analyze risk, problem-solve effectively and demonstrate a high level of professional judgment when recommending and providing services. The therapist makes environmental modifications and trains staff to manage speech needs at an appropriate level of supervision. This position supervises and provides treatment plans to the SLPA(s).

Responsibilities ·
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing evaluations, as appropriate.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client needs.
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services using evidence-based practices.
- Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation, including evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
- Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in accordance with California regulations and ASHA guidelines.
- Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to assigned SLPAs.
- Review and approve SLPA documentation and treatment activities, as required.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, physicians, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP), Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), or interdisciplinary team meetings, when applicable.
- Educate clients, families, and caregivers regarding communication disorders, treatment strategies, and home-based interventions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, payer, organizational, California licensure, and ASHA requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and continuing education activities.
- Support the nonprofit organization's mission, values, and commitment to serving diverse and underserved communities.
- Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and supervision requirements necessary to oversee SLPAs in California.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Treats a variety of speech and language impairments.
- Plans and participates in remedial programs to improve or restore communicative skills.
- Attends case meetings.
- Conducts hearing evaluations on all children on site each year and continually researches new materials to evaluate children.
- Evaluates students to determine eligibility for regular speech therapy.
- Selects and implements appropriate evaluation procedures.
- Tests and treats a variety of speech and language impairments to include functional articulation disorders involving cleft palate, cerebral palsy, impaired hearing, and vision.
- Interprets evaluation findings accurately to parents and staff.
- Develops and modifies therapy goals and objectives, materials, and activities to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Evaluates progress, modifies goals and objectives as needed.
- Presents and attends workshops in and out of the agency as the occasion arises.
- Develops/maintains tracking program for direct speech therapy services verses communication-based programs.
- Continually researches new materials to evaluate children in the field.
- Supervises assisting staff.
- Complies with organizational guidelines and HIPAA health care laws and regulations.
- Attends regular meetings with Supervisor.
- Other professional, job-related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
· Master's Degree in Speech & Language Pathology
· Valid California State Certification with related endorsements
· Certificate of Clinical Competence for ASHA preferred
· Bilingual Preferred

1. LiveScan Fingerprint clearance and background check - DOJ/FBI/Child Abuse Index (one time or upon re-hire)

3. Proof of immunity to Measles or MMR Vaccination Record (one time)

5. TDAP Vaccine within last 10 years (and every 10 years thereafter)

Pay: $48.00 - $57.00 per hour
