Job Summary:
Serve as the primary quality leader on the manufacturing floor, ensuring products are manufactured in compliance with company quality standards, customer requirements, and cGMP regulations. This position spends the majority of the workday on the production floor identifying quality risks, coaching operators, partnering with Production leadership, and driving continuous improvement to prevent defects before they occur. This position has the authority to coach production employees, enforce quality standards, document quality-related performance issues, and initiate corrective action to ensure consistent compliance with company expectations.

Functional Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day functional leadership of production employees while on the manufacturing floor.
- Has authority to coach employees, document quality-related performance issues, issue corrective actions consistent with company policy, and recommend additional disciplinary action when necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor, spend approximately 80–90% of the workday on the manufacturing floor actively observing operations, identifying risks, coaching employees, and verifying compliance.
- Accountable for maintaining production floor compliance with quality systems, GMPs, sanitation standards, batch documentation, and product specifications during assigned shifts.
- Identify recurring quality issues, recommend process improvements, and lead implementation of corrective actions that improve product quality, operator performance, and manufacturing consistency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, rework, customer complaints, and process variation.
- Analyze quality trends and partner with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Provide immediate floor-side coaching and retraining when quality or GMP deficiencies are observed, verify training effectiveness through direct observation, and document retraining activities.
- Hold production employees accountable for adhering to quality standards through direct observation, floor-side coaching, retraining, documentation, corrective action, and follow-up to ensure sustained compliance.
- Document performance concerns and partner with Production leadership and Human Resources on progressive discipline when coaching has not resulted in sustained improvement.
- Partner with Production Supervisors to resolve quality issues while maintaining production efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Support investigations, internal audits, customer audits, FDA inspections, process validations, and new product introductions.
- Promote a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility through leadership by example and consistent floor engagement.
- Stop or suspend production when significant quality or food safety risks exist.
- Escalate critical quality issues immediately.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing and leadership experience will be considered.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in a regulated manufacturing environment with demonstrated responsibility for coaching employees and enforcing quality standards.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Experience in dietary supplements, food, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing preferred.
- Working knowledge of cGMPs, FDA regulations, SOPs, investigations, CAPAs, and quality systems.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
