Assistant Project Manager
Commercial Solar Construction
$25–$30/hr | Full-Time | Glastonbury, CT
About Us
Lantern Electrical is a growing commercial electrical and solar contractor specializing in large-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects throughout the Northeast.
We're looking for someone with experience in commercial solar, electrical, or construction who wants to grow into project management. This is a hands-on role where you'll work alongside experienced project managers, supporting projects from estimating and procurement through installation and closeout.
This is not a desk-only position. You'll split your time between the office, warehouse, and jobsites.
Responsibilities
- Assist with estimating and project setup
- Coordinate material purchasing, deliveries, and inventory
- Track project schedules, costs, and documentation
- Prepare permits, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Coordinate with vendors, customers, and field crews
- Support warehouse organization and jobsite logistics
- Maintain accurate project information and records
- Help solve day-to-day project challenges
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in commercial solar, electrical, or construction
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work both in the office and in the field
Preferred
- Experience with estimating or project coordination
- Familiarity with construction drawings and project documentation
- Knowledge of commercial PV systems
