Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in education, physical education, recreation, or a related field. At least three years (or six summers) experience as a certified swim instructor and life guard. Previous experience managing an aquatic facility is a requirement. The incumbent must have the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people including members, program participants, parents, and the community-at-large.
Job Segments:
· Employs all aquatic staff within approved budget guidelines; reviews performance and effectiveness of personnel; administers appropriate salary increases.
· Provides for training programs for all aquatic staff. Carries primary responsibility for staff development within budget guidelines. Ensures all employed staff obtain required certifications necessary stipulated by PA State and LrC aquatic standards.
· Directs and delegates to aquatic personnel work to ensure successful completion of job responsibilities and departmental objectives.
· Supervise all AQ staff.
· Develop, monitor, and administer the aquatic department budget. Takes corrective action when necessary to maintain fiscal integrity.
· Responsible for maintaining broad based and relevant programs via evaluation, an understanding of the community and needs analysis. Responsible for new program development and new initiatives to enhance aquatic programming.
· Reviews and evaluates the enrollment, program, and services of the aquatic department, and takes corrective action when needed to meet departmental goals.
· Keeps records essential for control, evaluation, and conduct of programs. Prepares reports as requested.
· Develops and organizes special events to heighten awareness of aquatic programs and events.
· Works cooperatively with the Building/Facility Director to ensure pool chemistry is achieved, and appropriate records are maintained regarding water tests.
· Responsible for the general cleanliness of pool facilities and safe conduct of participants in the swimming pool areas.
· Coordinates Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid programs for internal staff, members and the community.
· Work with other LrC programs that offer aquatic programming, i.e.: Child Care, Youth and Adult programs to ensure standardization of aquatic safety.
· Interpret and communicate aquatic programs/services to members, program participants, the general public, and kindred community organizations. Works closely with Member Services and Communications Director to accomplish this responsibility.
· Work cooperatively as a team member and staff colleague with other LrC personnel in the accomplishment of departmental and LrC goals.
· Provide an environment where the LrC values and integrity can be taught.
· Act as a role model in your dealing with others, especially children at the LrC.
· Perform other duties as designated by supervisor in support of LrC goals and the mission.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
