Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Quality Inspector to join our Sheet Metal department team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This position involves conducting thorough inspections and implementing quality control measures in accordance with industry regulations. The goal is to ensure that our products are made of flawless materials with well-functioning equipment that meet our customer's high standards.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies.
- Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance.
- Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.).
- Use measuring tools such as calipers and various gauges to ensure correct dimensions
Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
- Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports to the Quality Manager.
- Supports the company emphasis on teamwork and cooperation to achieve our goals by performing other duties as assigned including working in other departments from time to time and helping with periodic cleanup issues.
- Generates improvement ideas and embraces improvement projects to better the business.
- Participates in 6S initiatives and Kaizen events as required
- Regular and consistent attendance to fulfill work responsibilities
- Contribute to the maintenance of the Quality Management System through the correct execution of its functions and/or activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Able to read and understand production schedule and accept verbal direction to successfully complete procedures and assigned tasks, required.
- Detail-oriented for completing required paperwork and information systems inputs with a high degree of accuracy.
- Job experience in an industrial production environment with the related safety training preferred.
- Flexibility in work assignments and priorities is required to address the dynamic needs of our customers and shifts in production requirements.
- Good communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Physical Demands
- Required to talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time; frequently move around workstation/area and production floor, using PPE all the time; position self to access different areas and angles of the product being assembled, to include stooping, bending, and crouching.
- Required use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Visual acuity necessary to do the job safely and effectively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision work to perform inspections and in reading schematics, peripheral, profundity, blueprints, and instructions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
