Overview
Meiji Corporation is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow customer relationships throughout the Michigan territory. This position will have a strong focus on supporting and maintaining key accounts while developing a thorough understanding of customers' manufacturing processes, operational needs, and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned key accounts and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Conduct regular (weekly) in-person customer visits to understand needs, applications, and manufacturing operations.
- Maintain and grow sales and gross profit within assigned accounts.
- Provide responsive, high-quality customer support and serve as a primary point of contact.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and value-based solutions.
- Analyze customer activity and identify potential business opportunities.
- Work closely with Inside Sales, management, suppliers, and customer Engineering and Maintenance teams.
- Support and manage customer projects from simple to complex, including coordination of suppliers, quotations, schedules, and project requirements.
- As territory knowledge develops, pursue opportunities to expand existing accounts and develop new business throughout Michigan.
- Maintain sales activity and customer information in Salesforce.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales goals.

Territory & Travel
- Michigan territory, with a primary focus on key customer accounts.
- Weekly in-person visits to key customer accounts are required.
- Additional travel throughout Michigan as needed.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of B2B outside sales experience preferred.
- Proven ability to manage customer relationships and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional, accountable, customer-focused, and responsive.
- Industrial, manufacturing, or technical product sales experience preferred.
- Factory automation or related component sales experience is a plus.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
