Job Description
ACME Machine Works is a family-owned manufacturing company specializing in the design and construction of custom machinery used to automate industrial metalworking processes. We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician / Machine Builder to join our team and help build industrial equipment from the ground up.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and seeing a machine come to life from initial assembly through final testing.
Responsibilities
- Install and route electrical wiring on custom-built industrial machinery.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
- Wire control panels, motors, sensors, switches, relays, and other machine components.
- Install and troubleshoot 120V, 240V, and 480V electrical systems.
- Assist with machine startup, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Verify wiring and electrical assemblies meet design specifications.
- Work closely with machinists, welders, engineers, and project managers during machine builds.
- Assist with mechanical assembly of custom machinery and automation equipment.
- Opportunity to learn and assist with MIG welding and fabrication as part of machine construction.
- Opportunity to learn industrial painting and finishing in our paint booth.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist with field service and machine installations when required.
QualificationsRequired
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience pulling wire and wiring industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use common electrical testing equipment such as multimeters.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Industrial electrician experience.
- Experience with motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial automation.
- Experience building custom machinery or manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems.
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Paint booth or industrial painting experience is a plus but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Journeyman Electrician license is a plus but not required.

Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday through Thursday
- Overtime available as needed

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Industrial electrician: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
