American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring Epic proficiency and telemetry dysrhythmia management skills.

26-week contract with a night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30)

Float pool assignment covering all acute care and telemetry units, including Behavioral Health and Respite
-
Patient population includes Ortho, Neuro/Stroke, and Cardiac Telemetry; experience in these areas is required
-
Shifts may be split into an 8-hour block on one unit and a 4-hour block on another, requiring strong time management skills
-
Patient ratio of 1:4–5
-
Every other weekend required; travelers are asked to remain flexible
-
No on-call requirements

Floating within scope is required to meet facility needs

Block scheduling is not available

EMR: Epic (required)
-
Active WA RN license or Compact license; pending WA license accepted

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience required

Proficiency in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias required
-
Experience with peripheral nerve catheters preferred (high volume on ortho floors)

Epic EMR proficiency required

Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred

Must pass a fill-in-the-blank telemetry test (pass/fail) administered at orientation

COVID vaccination and booster required
-
First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction

RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
-
Christmas RTO is not permitted; travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays (eve or day)

Scrubs may be any solid color; light blue scrubs are provided on the unit
-
Former UW Health System staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler

The manager prefers to avoid placing travel pairs on this assignment
