"Lower's Art" Position
We are looking for a fun and energetic Art teacher for our K-6 grade Art program. Applicants should have a strong love for teaching, a caring heart, and the ability to have fun! Knowledge in engaging lesson planning, classroom organization, and a high level of professionalism is required. The ability to work collaboratively with other subject teachers is a must.
Responsibilities
Entirety Basics:
- Class sizes are limited to 10-12 students per class
- Teachers create their own project based lesson plans that coordinate with the school year theme.

Art Gallery:
- Collaborate with our Upper's Art teacher to create and plan our end of the year Art Gallery (open to the public)
- Projects should be high level but attainable for students to complete on their own with guidance
- Event planning experience is preferred
Curriculum Development:
- Design and develop comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum plans aligned with the school's core values, objectives, and State's requirements.
- Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and materials to enhance students' learning experiences.
- Stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and trends in education.
- Incorporate the importance of health, wellness, and movement to students of all levels.
Lesson Planning and Delivery:
- Prepare and deliver engaging and dynamic physical education lessons tailored to students' individual abilities and needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and active learning.
- Utilize a variety of instructional and therapeutic techniques to promote student's gross and fine motor abilities.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture that promotes a love of learning.
- Set clear expectations for behavior and academic performance, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Manage classroom routines, transitions, and student engagement effectively to maximize instructional time.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and specialists to support students' holistic development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops, conferences, and training programs to enhance teaching skills.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative school culture by actively engaging in team meetings, sharing best practices, and participating in school-wide initiatives. Classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
