Essential Duties & Responsibilities for a Cook:
- Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking in accordance with recipes and the menu.
- Cook and prepare high-quality menu items efficiently and on schedule.
- Check the taste, texture, and temperature of food to ensure it meets our standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen, ensuring all surfaces and storage containers are in compliance with health standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or culinary setting
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of food handling and safety practices
- Background in meal preparation and food service
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus
- Familiarity with menu planning and catering services
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a kitchen environment
