Lawn Care Apprentice
About the Position
Seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our lawn and tree care team to assist in the care and treatment of our clients' properties across the Treasure Valley. Applicators will be working alongside a state licensed applicator and will actively pursue testing and certification to acquire professional licensing. This is a full-time year-round position that is available immediately. Work during the winter months includes holiday lighting installations. We have 2 warehouse locations; one in Middleton, ID and one in Garden City, ID. This position will work primarily out of the Garden City location.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include representing Zing Services as an industry leader through professional and respectful service, hard work and dependability, care and attention to details, cooperation with crew members and office staff, and bringing a positive and helpful attitude to work each day. Applicators in training will be applying chemicals to lawns, trees, and shrubs. They will be working outside with people and will help promote healthy landscapes and diagnose lawn, tree, and shrub issues.
Secondary duties include assisting other service teams in finishing their routes to meet daily goals, and assisting our operations manager with any shop or miscellaneous work.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will be eager to learn and will work towards becoming licensed through the Idaho Department of Agriculture. Must have good communication and listening skills as well as exceptional time management. Must be able to respond to clients and co-workers in a calm, collected, and respectful manner. Position requires good common sense with chemicals, equipment, and other variables to ensure a safe working environment. Must be dependable and on time each day to help work as a contributing team player. Will be working outside and will be lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Must have a valid ID driver's license.
