This role provides American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and paraprofessional support for preschool-aged students who are deaf or hard of hearing, helping ensure access to instruction and meaningful participation in the classroom environment.This is a 10-month school-year contract position offering a consistent MondayFriday schedule, competitive compensation, weekly pay, and benefits eligibility.ResponsibilitiesProvide ASL interpretation during classroom instruction, activities, and school events.Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, peers, and families as appropriate.Support students in achieving academic, social, and developmental goals.Assist teachers with classroom management and instructional activities.Implement accommodations outlined in student IEPs and educational plans.Encourage positive student engagement and independence.Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities.Collaborate with educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success.Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district and state guidelines.QualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED.Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or related setting.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
