Overview
The HVAC Handyman plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing both residential and commercial HVAC systems as well and other residential and commercial repairs. Working as part of a service team, this position involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting system issues, and handling emergency repairs while ensuring excellent customer service. The role requires local travel to various service sites and the use of standard hand tools and mobile service applications to effectively diagnose and resolve HVAC and other maintenance and repair problems.
Responsibilities
- Perform equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system malfunctions
- Execute repair services and parts replacement efficiently
- Handle emergency repairs with prompt response
- Operate and repair electrical and plumbing components related to HVAC systems
- Repair and maintenance plumbing and electrical jobs
- Utilize standard hand tools and mobile service apps daily
- Communicate effectively with customers and provide service updates to team
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Required Qualifications
- Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in HVAC maintenance & installation
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC equipment such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and ductwork.
- Basic understanding of electrical
- Basic understanding of plumbing
- Basic understanding of carpentry
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Good customer communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and time management abilities
- Experience with field service operations including troubleshooting on-site issues efficiently.
- Comfort working with electrical components using tools like ohmmeters for diagnostics.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures and company policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Certification in HVAC or related field
