The Production Supervisor is a mid-level leadership role responsible for directing a production team and ensuring operations meet all plant objectives. This role champions strict compliance with Food Safety and Quality Management Systems and fosters a proactive, team-oriented environment through coaching, training, and effective problem-solving.
Team Leadership & Development: Set clear directions, energize the team, and provide resources for problem-solving. Train, cross-train, and coach employees (one-on-one and team settings) to build confidence, improve performance, and ensure operational continuity.
Production & Operations: Coordinate all production activities in assigned areas. Ensure timely completion of production paperwork, manage multiple projects on tight deadlines, and respond to critical after-hours calls.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other departments and shifts regarding staffing, safety, housekeeping, and production needs to optimize overall plant flow.
Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Safety, Quality, and HR policies (GMP, HACCP, SQF, Master Sanitation Schedule, Integrated Pest Management). Escalate non-conforming products/equipment, report food safety or security issues immediately, and maintain a highly sanitary, food-safe environment.
Audits & Record Keeping: Actively participate in internal/external audits. Complete quality checks and inventory/production records with high accuracy and attention to detail.
