Job Description:
The Patient Service Representative will support daily front desk and patient-facing operations, including registration, scheduling, insurance verification, payments, and patient flow. This role is ideal for someone with previous medical office experience who is comfortable managing multiple priorities while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients throughout the check-in and check-out process.
- Register new and returning patients while verifying demographic and insurance information.
- Update patient records and ensure required documentation is complete.
- Process copayments and collect outstanding patient balances.
- Schedule follow-up visits and provide patients with appropriate paperwork and information.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to patient questions in a professional manner.
- Monitor patient appointments and help maintain an efficient flow throughout the clinic.
- Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to support smooth daily operations.
- Scan and upload patient documentation into the electronic medical record.
- Handle a high volume of patient interactions while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Remain patient and composed when assisting individuals who may be frustrated or upset.
Qualifications:
- Previous medical front desk or healthcare administrative experience required.
- Experience with patient registration, check-in/check-out, and insurance verification.
- Athena EMR experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume medical office is highly preferred.
- Strong multitasking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- OneSource experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
