We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing clinical team.
Position Summary
As a Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans that help patients improve their ability to perform everyday activities safely and independently.
This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients while making a direct impact on their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Assist patients in improving performance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
- Implement therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve strength, coordination, balance, and functional independence
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment techniques, adaptive equipment, and home safety recommendations
- Observe and document patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Maintain compliance with agency policies and state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, patients, and family members to ensure quality patient care
Qualifications
Required
- Active California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current CPR Certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
Preferred
- Home Health experience
- Experience working with geriatric patients
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
