Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Supervisor / Lead

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Supervisor/Lead to provide daily operational support, mentorship, and guidance to a team of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists. This role works closely with CDI leadership to support staff development, quality initiatives, audits, and process improvement while serving as a subject matter expert in CDI practices, coding, and CDI technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily direction, workload assignments, and support to CDI Specialists.
- Monitor case reconciliation data within CDI software and assist with reporting and data analysis.
- Perform initial and concurrent CDI reviews and ensure accurate documentation within CDI systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for CDI processes, coding guidelines, and CDI software utilization.
- Provide support and resolution for complex CDI questions and escalate issues appropriately.
- Mentor, train, and support new and existing CDI staff.
- Assist with staff competencies, audits, education, and ongoing professional development.
- Participate in CDI education programs, vendor training, and process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in acute care, intermediate care, or home care settings.
- Minimum 4 years of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (CDS) experience.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Epic experience.
- Strong knowledge of CDI practices, clinical documentation requirements, coding concepts, and regulatory guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or mentoring CDI teams.
- Experience with CDI software platforms and reporting tools.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Experience developing education programs and staff competencies.
