Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts, to efficiently load, unload, and move materials within our distribution center. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and materials handling procedures. Prior warehouse experience, including order picking and shipping & receiving, is highly valued. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a smooth workflow and ensuring the safe handling of goods in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load and unload shipments.
- Pick orders accurately using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and safety compliance.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas while adhering to OSHA standards.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently during daily operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist in materials handling tasks such as stacking pallets and organizing inventory within the warehouse.
- Support warehouse management in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate cranes or construction-related equipment if required for specific tasks.
Scheduled: Sunday to Thrusday 10pm to 6:30am
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control.
- Strong understanding of materials handling, shipping & receiving procedures, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout shifts.
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance or repair is advantageous.
- Prior warehouse supervisor experience or extensive warehouse distribution background is desirable but not mandatory.
