Backyard Breaks is hiring Production Assistants — known internally as Copilots — to support our on-air talent during live sports card breaks. In this role, you're the right hand to the Breaker on stream, making sure every card is handled, labeled, and routed correctly in real time so the show runs smoothly and the audience gets the experience they came for. Your work is what allows our on-air talent to focus on entertaining the audience while the operational side runs flawlessly behind the camera.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for someone who's detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a live production environment. If you're looking to break into live commerce or sports media, this is one of the best entry points in the industry.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the Breaker's on-stream support during live sports card breaks
- Ensure every card sold during a show is labeled and assigned to the correct buyer in real time
- Stock and prep all products needed throughout each broadcast
- Organize cards after each show for handoff to the fulfillment team
- Move quickly and accurately under live broadcast conditions
- Track sales and product movement using Google Sheets or Excel
- Collaborate with Breakers, other Copilots, and the production team to keep shows flowing smoothly
- Follow direction from on-air talent and production leads in real time during live shows
- Support setup and breakdown before and after broadcasts
What We're Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled at multitasking across multiple responsibilities simultaneously during live broadcasts
- Excellent at following directions quickly and accurately
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with evening and weekend shifts
- Interest in sports, sports cards, or live media/commerce
- High school diploma or GED required
Bonus Points If You
- Follow the sports card hobby or have collected cards yourself
- Have experience in live production, broadcasting, AV, or theater tech
- Have worked in a fast-paced retail, restaurant, or warehouse environment requiring real-time accuracy
- Are interested in eventually moving into on-air talent, production, or operations roles

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to carry weights up to and sometimes exceeding 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
- Must be comfortable working in an active studio environment with live broadcast equipment
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends based on broadcast schedule
