Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse to serve as a House Supervisor, providing critical leadership and oversight within our healthcare facility. This role is vital in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a collaborative team environment. As a House Supervisor, you will coordinate clinical operations across shifts, support nursing staff, and serve as a key point of contact for patient safety and quality assurance. Your expertise in diverse clinical settings and strong management skills will drive excellence in our care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily clinical operations across all departments during your shift, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of patient care.
- Provide direct supervision and support to nursing staff, including staffing assignments, performance feedback, and mentorship to foster professional growth.
- Respond promptly to patient care issues, emergencies, or staffing concerns, coordinating appropriate interventions or resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state healthcare regulations, HIPAA privacy standards, and accreditation requirements such as NCQA standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication regarding patient assessments, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and oversee complex procedures such as IV infusion, catheter care, ventilator management, and tube feeding.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks; ensure records meet legal and regulatory standards.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with Epic EMR systems and other EHR platforms; proficient in medical terminology and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10).
- Proven leadership in nursing management roles within acute care settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, Level I & II trauma centers, or hospital medicine units.
- Strong critical care experience including ventilator management, cardiac catheterization support, airway management, and spinal tap procedures.
- Skilled in patient assessment techniques across diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (including PICU), neonatal ventilator care, dementia care & memory support.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases involving behavioral health, developmental disabilities, long-term care regulations, and assisted living environments.
- Knowledge of infection control practices such as sterile processing and aseptic techniques; experienced in specimen collection/processing and phlebotomy.
- Exceptional managerial communication skills for supervising teams; adept at managing care facility teams while ensuring nursing policy compliance.
