Sunset Distributing is seeking a detail-orientated Routing Analyst. The Router role plays a critical part within Sunset Distributing’s operation team. This role is responsible for the daily routing of the trucks, scheduling dock appointments, monitoring/reacting ad hoc requests and providing direction to our local distribution drivers who deliver our amazing products to our customers. The Routing Analyst role is based in our City of Industry office and distribution center with a schedule of Monday through Friday with the core hours of 6AM-2:30PM.

What you’ll do:
- Develop daily delivery routes and schedules for optimal efficiency in order to achieve a high level of productivity, efficiency and customer service with our retail account base
- Create delivery appointment schedule for customers that require a dock appointment

Manage and communicate orders that fall below minimums, daily truck assignments and route driver assignments.

Review next day delivery volume and approve off-day deliveries based on projected volumes and service areas for next day

Maintain data hygiene within various systems, and send out nightly reports

Review prior day delivery in routing software to ensure all stops are properly captured or adjust the geofencing to capture stops.

Analyze routing metrics and present regular recommendations for route optimizations

Assign drivers as needed to pick up incoming orders from vendors/suppliers

Actively support and champion the Smith System safe driving practices while developing delivery routes

Provide support as needed with state and government regulation compliance as it pertains to our fleet
- Comply with warehouse procedures, policies, and quality control standards for all suppliers.
What you’ll bring:
- High School Diploma or GED required

Experience working in a fast paced / high volume service environment answering calls and managing email communications preferred

Experience and working knowledge of shipping and logistics practices

Knowledge of driver HOS and FMCSA regulations

High-volume customer service and order management experience preferred

Highly proficient in verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills

Detail oriented with a strong sense of urgency and ability to effectively prioritize tasks

Self-starter and the ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy

Demonstrated computer proficiency including experience with Microsoft Office Suite

General computer usage knowledge with the ability to learn Company-selected software
