Job Brief
Oversee and lead a Religious Education program for children in grades 1–8, 48 Sundays per year. Responsibilities include planning and administering programming, maintaining registration and attendance records, and producing a weekly Religious Education newsletter.
Coordinate quarterly family events, direct the annual Christmas pageant, and support a safe and welcoming learning environment. Ensure all Religious Education volunteers complete required background checks and are trained on church and Unitarian Universalist Association safety policies. Monitor compliance with all safety procedures and report nursery staff concerns to the minister.
Follows established procedures and policies. Collaborates with childcare staff, teachers, and facilitators, youth advisors, mentors, other volunteers, and the congregation. Works closely with the staff team, checking with the Minister and/or Congregational Administrator for best practices. Provides monthly written reports to the Minister for the Board of Trustees.
Hours & Pay
Hours: 10 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours.
Salary: $30.00/hour
Benefits: This is a part-time, non-exempt position averaging 10 hours per week. As such, this position is not eligible for medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation, or sick leave under the current North Shore Unitarian Church Personnel Handbook.
Overtime: Non-Exempt. Must be approved in advance.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
