Swain County has an opening for a Income Maintenance Caseworker – Food Stamps & Medicaid. The primary responsibility of this position is to determine/re-determine eligibility for Food Stamps and Medicaid as an Income Maintenance worker. Employees must explain Food Stamp and Medicaid programs and benefits options and refer clients to other programs and services that could meet there needs as appropriate. Work is performed and supervised with an Income Maintenance Supervisor. Training is provided. The normal work schedule includes Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM. An additional expectation and requirement of this job may include but not limited to Disaster relief Duty if needed. Up to $39,363 salary, with an increase at 6 months.
