Summary
St. Paul Christian School (a preschool in Westport, CT) has an immediate opening for a loving and energetic Lead Teacher for our Four's classroom , 8:30 to 1:30 Monday -Friday. If you love working with children and have previous experience in early childhood education, please apply today.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Maintain constant supervision of children in your care.
· Provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for children.
· Create activities that are fun and educational.
· Integrate Biblical principles into learning.
· Responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating appropriate early childhood education experiences
· Maintain positive and continuous communication with administrators and parents.
· Follow policies and procedures of St. Paul Christian School and St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 36 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education.
· At least two years of lead teacher experience working with children in a classroom setting.
· Christian who attends church on a regular basis.
· Knowledge of innovative teaching strategies involving STEM, purposeful-play, and others.
· Familiar with ELDS and DOTS assessments
· Experience teaching Sunday school or Bible lessons to young children.
· Ability to work as a team player with assistant teacher and administrators.
· Happy and nurturing attitude towards children.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Physically, mentally, and occupationally capable of performing assigned tasks required to work with young children.
