Residential Care At The Summit is a licensed GRO/RTC (residential treatment center) in Fort Worth, Texas. Our 6+ acre, gated, landscaped campus includes our new 11,000 sq. ft. residential / program staff office building, a commercial kitchen and dining space, outdoor sport courts, and covered pavilions.
We are now hiring full-time therapeutic support professionals (TSPs). Our therapeutic support professionals establish and build supportive and nurturing relationships with youth and provide or ensure the provision of all services needed to meet each child's needs. We believe a safe, secure, therapeutic environment allows our residents to heal from past trauma while also building a healthy organizational culture for employees.

Pay / Benefits
- Hourly rates between $15.00 - $18.00.

Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and reporting the needs, goals, and progress of the youth. Communicate with supervisor, treatment director, program director, licensed child care administrator, case managers, and others as needed to assess / discuss the youth’s daily progress and needs. Attend individualized service plan meetings as needed. Collaborate to ensure that all aspects of the child's individualized service plans are met consistently.
- Build nurturing relationships while setting limits with residents. Professionally handle any negative reactions that may occur resulting from setting limits/ discipline. Transport youth to various appointments. Prepare meals on occasion if needed. Participate in scheduled activities for staff and youth that may be held after normal office hours or on weekends.
- Maintain timely, accurate health behavioral record documentation on each resident’s activities and behaviors. Ensure services for the youth outside the facility and therapeutic care within the facility are carried out appropriately and documented thoroughly. Report suspected youth abuse/neglect to supervisor and to the child abuse hotline.
- Monitor activities of the children / youth to ensure continuous compliance with the state's Minimum Standards for General Residential Operations, residential care contract requirements, company policies and procedures, and internal protocols.
- Attend all required in-service trainings. Participate in trainings that may be scheduled after hours and/or on weekends to meet the above listed state, contract, or policy requirements. Participate in scheduled staff meetings.
- Stay abreast of professional literature and development to continually enhance skills.
- Perform other assignments and duties as requested.
Qualifications
This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum one (1) year of work experience, preferably working with adolescents, within the previous ten (10) years.
Previous experience in a residential treatment center for youth, general child care residential setting, child-placing agency, or other related job is a plus.
The requirements listed below represent the MINIMUM requirements necessary for the Therapeutic Support Professional role:
- Candidate must be able to exercise patience, good judgment, and confidentiality; to observe and make accurate assessments of situations with available information; and possesses the ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts.
- Candidate is able to work effectively with frequent interruptions and in stressful situations. Candidate is able to respond appropriately in crisis situations.
- Candidate has the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with youth, coworkers, and the public. Candidate works effectively with moderate supervision.
- Candidate is professional, dependable, and punctual. (Must be on-time for shift as assigned and attend training and events after office hours and/or on weekends.)
- Candidate is observant and focused. He / she can recognize differences in sound, such as voices/noises ( loud and playful vs.angry or combative) and is able to differentiate tones and volume in conversations to determine mood and the appropriate response to person. Candidate is visually observant and can pick up on small details during visual inspections while providing care and supervision for residents.
- Candidate possesses sufficiently good health required to properly discharge his / her duties in the role working directly with youth.
- Pre-requisite TB testing is required for all employees of the company. Employees with (communicable) infectious diseases or skin lesions are prohibited from caring for youth until such time as no longer a risk of infection to others.
- Candidate is required to become certified in CPR & First Aid, medication administration, and behavioral intervention techniques which include physical restraint.
- Candidate must possess a valid driver's license and have a driving record which meets insurance underwriting guidelines.
- Candidate must be able to pass state-required background checks which include fingerprinting and photographs.
- Candidate must successfully pass urine drug screen requirements and is subject to random drug screens while employed.
- Candidate must be physically fit and capable of lifting forty (40) pounds.
- Candidate must be able to stay alert during late hours or overnight shifts.
- Candidate must successfully complete the initial 90-day probationary period.
