Country Inn & Suites Tyler University Area is looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our hotel team. We are seeking someone who takes pride in keeping a property safe, functional, clean, and guest-ready.
The ideal candidate has previous hotel, apartment, commercial, or building maintenance experience and is comfortable troubleshooting problems independently.
Qualifications
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification required
- Previous maintenance experience required
- Hotel maintenance experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
- Experience with preventive maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Comfortable performing basic painting, drywall, caulking, and cosmetic repairs
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to respond professionally to guest and team member concerns
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements associated with hotel maintenance
Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician, you will help ensure our hotel remains in excellent operating condition. Responsibilities include:
- Complete preventive maintenance throughout the hotel
- Troubleshoot and repair guest room maintenance issues
- Maintain hotel HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems within your level of training
- Maintain the swimming pool and ensure required chemical levels and records are properly maintained
- Complete routine inspections of guest rooms and public areas
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests
- Perform painting, patching, caulking, and general property repairs
- Maintain maintenance equipment, tools, and storage areas
- Communicate outstanding maintenance issues to management
- Document completed and outstanding work orders
- Assist with maintaining compliance with hotel safety standards
- Help ensure maintenance concerns are addressed correctly the first time

Required Certification
Current CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification is required.
Experience: Maintenance experience required; hotel maintenance experience preferred.
