Overview:
The College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environment at Auburn University is seeking a qualified individual for a position as a postdoctoral Fellow in the field of developing new composites using fibers from natural resources. This 12-month, limited-term, non-tenure-track position is funded by external sources and is renewable subject to funding availability.

Responsibilities:
The primary task of this position is to help build a wood and related composites research platform focused on composite manufacturing and characterization. The major tasks include developing new research ideas, writing research proposals, and publishing high-impact research articles.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in wood science, forest bioproducts, or a closely related field at time of employment.

Expertise with wood-based composites

Expertise in wood polymer composite manufacturing and characterization

Experience on thermally modified wood and its characterization

The successful applicant will demonstrate commitment to the timely completion of deliverables, commitment to the publication of results in peer-reviewed journals, and strong potential to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders on a highly visible research topic.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment (no sponsorship).
