This position requires the maintenance and care of the Animal Shelter and animals. Provides assistance to the Animal Control Officers when needed. This position will normally work 20 hours per week. Work schedule will be: Saturday (6 hours), Sunday (6 hours) and Monday (8 hours). Additional hours may be required as needed.
Duties:
Answers telephone and assists the public which requires responding to questions regarding the shelter and animal control procedures. Provides care for shelter animals by cleaning cages and other areas of the shelter, disinfecting kennel runs, and providing food and water to animals. May be required to assist with the euthanasia of animals. Provides assistance to the public with animal intake and adoption by completing appropriate paperwork and showing animals. Completes reports utilizing Computer Aided Dispatch system. Provides tours of the shelter. Accurately accounts for monies and items subject to inventory.
Completion of high school or GED. Must have skills in tact and diplomacy. Must possess a valid Texas drivers license Class “C” and an acceptable driving record. Must be able to use a computer. Must be able to work independently.
